Goldstein Accused of Breaking Court Rules With Pro Se Motion

Indicted US Supreme Court litigator and SCOTUSblog co-founder Thomas Goldstein wrongly challenged his release conditions personally despite being represented by counsel in his criminal case, the government told a federal judge.

Goldstein, who pleaded not guilty to tax and loan fraud charges last month, asked the US District Court for the District of Maryland on Wednesday to let him substitute his Washington home for alternative collateral to secure his $4 million bond. A federal magistrate judge previously denied his request.
