Amarte USA Holdings Inc., the maker of EYECONIC eye cream, has accused other cosmetic companies and beauty retailers of infringing its trademark for “EYECONIC” in relation to eye cosmetics and creams.
Amarte filed a complaint against L’Oreal USA Inc., Ulta Beauty Inc., and Sephora USA Inc. over marketing for Urban Decay, a L’Oreal brand, that uses the phrase “eyeconic.” Amarte also filed a complaint against Grande Cosmetics LLC, Macy’s Inc., and SalonCentric Inc. over Grande’s Eyeconics set of products. Both complaints were filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
