Billboard Company Gets Temporary Order Blocking Cannabis Ad Bans

An outdoor advertising company convinced a federal judge to pause enforcement of a Southern California city’s prohibitions on billboard ads for local cannabis dispensaries.

The City of Perris didn’t meet its burden to justify two ordinances restricting commercial speech under Central Hudson‘s First Amendment test, Judge Sunshine S. Sykes ruled in granting a temporary restraining order that blocked the ordinances until Oct. 24.
