Blue Bell Creameries frustrated a Delaware Chancery Court judge Wednesday by arguing a $60 million settlement in 2020 over a deadly listeria outbreak released its top-level holding company from pending claims in a separate lawsuit.

The case produced a landmark Delaware Supreme Court opinion in 2019 on corporate oversight claims that’s “spawned a million CLE panel discussions” but otherwise has proceeded fitfully through unusual moves by the Blue Bell Creameries USA Inc. board’s special litigation committee, said Vice Chancellor Nathan A.
