Chris Brown’s defamation lawsuit against Warner Brothers Discovery Inc. over the 2024 documentary “Chris Brown: A History of Violence” was tossed Monday by a Los Angeles judge.
“Plaintiff has failed to meet his burden in establishing the minimal merit of any of the allegedly defamatory statements,” California Superior Court Los Angeles County Judge Colin Leis said.
He granted the producers’ motion to strike the complaint under California’s anti-SLAPP law, which prevents baseless suits over speech tied to the public interest.
