DOJ Threatening Online Child Crime Funds, California Cities Say

San Diego and San Jose sued the Department of Justice Friday, which is threatening to cut grant funds used by local law enforcement to investigate internet crimes against children by imposing unconstitutional conditions on the money.

The two California cities, which sued in the US District Court for the Southern District of California, said the the DOJ’s new grant conditions require them to uphold a legally ambiguous view of antidiscrimination law and agree to use the funds in a way that advances the administration’s immigration policies.
