The US Department of Education paid $12,000 to settle a suit alleging it failed to fix an incorrect credit report for a student loan borrower.
Danielle Henkel accepted the government’s offer of judgment, she told the US District Court for the District of Columbia in a Thursday notice. The government said it made the offer solely for “compromising disputed claims,” and said it didn’t admit liability or fault.
