Head Start Groups Get Early Relief in Trump Dismantling Suit

Organizations depending on the Head Start education program are entitled to injunctive relief in their lawsuit alleging the Trump Administration is unlawfully defunding the program, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

The plaintiffs showed they are likely to succeed on their claims that a July 14 directive from the US Department of Health and Human Services—which would exclude immigrant families from Head Start—violates the Head Start Act and the Administrative Procedure Act, Judge Ricardo S. Martinez of the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said in an order.
