A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit against the US Department of Health and Human Services for not covering Covid-19 vaccine injuries under a federal program meant to pay out people harmed from routine immunizations.
Ordering HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to add Covid-19 shots to the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program wouldn’t directly allow plaintiff Paul Brundage to secure compensation for a blood-clotting disorder because Congress would still need to pass an excise tax on the vaccine, Judge Sparkle Sooknanan said in a Monday opinion dismissing the lawsuit.
