InterDigital Seeks to Toss Disney Streaming Royalties Lawsuit

A Walt Disney Co. unit’s lawsuit accusing InterDigital Inc. of monopolizing video-compression patents should be tossed because Disney hasn’t shown it suffered any real injury, the wireless technology developer told a Delaware federal judge.

If Disney Enterprises Inc.’s claims against InterDigital aren’t dismissed, the court should pause the case until related infringement suits in California and abroad are resolved, InterDigital argued in its supporting brief filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
