Reports of long holding times, delayed access to medical issues, and the attempted suicide of a child at a Texas immigration facility troubled a Los Angeles judge Monday who reviewed reports of some children being held for more than 100 days.
“The longer they’re in custody, the more likelihood these things are going to happen,” said Judge Dolly M. Gee, of the US District Court for the Central District of California.
Gee said she may appoint a monitor depending on the data presented in the next set of reports.
