NBC Defeats Former Congressman Devin Nunes’ Defamation Suit (1)

NBCUniversal Media LLC stopped former Rep. Devin Nunes’ defamation suit alleging that Rachel Maddow’s news program smeared him by saying he refused to give the FBI a package he got from a Ukrainian legislator with ties to Russian intelligence.

No reasonable jury could find that NBC made a statement about Nunes (R-Calif.) with constitutionally defined actual malice, Judge P. Kevin Castel of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said in an Aug. 1 order.
