The NFL, its 32 teams, and licensing partner Fanatics Inc. asked a federal court in Manhattan to send to arbitration a proposed class action by online purchasers of NFL licensed products who allege an anticompetitive scheme caused them to spend more than they otherwise would have for team gear.
The plaintiffs agreed to the terms of use when they made purchases on the NFL and Fanatics websites, which include binding arbitration agreements, Fanatics and the league defendants told the US District Court for the Southern District of New York May 27.
