Ohio’s top public safety official will serve as the state’s next attorney general through the end of the year, Gov. Mike DeWine announced Monday.
Andy Wilson will be the state’s top cop from June until January, when the winner of November’s election is sworn in, the Republican governor announced at a news conference in Columbus. Wilson is currently the director of the state Department of Public Safety, a role he’s held since 2022.
