SkyWest Trainees Suing Over Wages Denied Class Status, For Now

SkyWest Airlines Inc. defeated three flight attendants’ request for court-authorized notice to be issued to other workers they say were similarly underpaid for new hire training, inviting them to join a collective action.

The airline’s win in the Fair Labor Standards Act lawsuit, however, may be short-lived, as the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York denied the plaintiffs’ conditional certification motion “without prejudice.”
