Spirit Halloween, Retail Operator End California Franchise Suit

Spirit Halloween Superstores LLC and a California-based retail operator agreed to close litigation disputing whether the end of their quarter-century partnership violated state franchise law.

The parties moved to dismiss the case with prejudice, which the US District Court for the Northern District of California approved Tuesday. D’s Gone Batty Inc. and its principals, Damara and Dax Arsanis, sued the costume giant in January for allegedly terminating their contract that month without prior notice, good cause, or an opportunity to cure.
