Temu—the Chinese online shopping platform—was sued by Arizona’s attorney general for allegedly compromising the privacy of state residents without their consent.
The platform, as of late, has sought to attract US consumers with deep discounts, but AG Kris Mayes (D) in a press statement announcing the suit warned consumers “that behind Temu’s low prices and shiny advertising, there is real danger"—namely through invasive software that harvests sensitive user data beyond what a shopping app ordinarily needs.
