Election night challenges in Texas to two counties extending voting hours because of confusion about what polls Democratic voters were to go to in the March 3 primary are now moot, the Texas Supreme Court ruled Friday.
With the election over, the justices announced they won’t consider the mandamus relief sought by state Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) against district court judges in Dallas and Williamson counties that ordered polls to remain open past the normal closing hour.
The court didn’t provide explanation for finding the challenges moot, which is standard when a case no longer poses a live controversy. ...
