Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) “abused her role and authority” as chairwoman of the House Committee on Education & Workforce when she tried to get a Columbia University student expelled for pro-Palestine activism, a federal lawsuit alleges.

The lawsuit from Khymani James, who has indefinitely suspended from the university since 2024, joins a spate of litigation across the country against universities that have taken action against students for speaking out against Israel and in support of Palestine.
