A key prosecution witness is expected to tell jurors Thursday of encounters with Harvey Weinstein.
The witness, Kaja Sokola, took the stand briefly Wednesday, describing traveling to New York as a model. Prosecutors said in opening statements last month that Weinstein assaulted Sokola in 2006, an allegation that wasn’t charged at Weinstein’s first trial.
“I was looking at the skyline of the city, and I couldn’t believe I’m here,” Sokola said on the witness stand Wednesday before court broke.
Unlike the other accusers at Weinstein’s retrial, Sokola didn’t testify during the first trial.
