EasyJet Plc, the UK airline that helped pioneer ultra low-cost travel in Europe over the past three decades, has drawn takeover interest from an investment firm, potentially shaking up the regional airline market as it navigates high fuel costs and steep competition.
Castlelake LP said late on Friday that it’s considering a possible offer, while cautioning that no approach has been made to the airline’s board and that it’s possible no offer will materialize. The investment firm said it will provide an update on its intentions no later than June 26.
A spokesperson for EasyJet declined to comment.
