EDP Weighs Sale of US Unit Focused on Small-Scale Solar Power

EDP Renovaveis SA, one of Europe’s largest renewable energy companies, is exploring the sale of its US distributed-generation business, according to people familiar with the matter.

The platform includes about 500 megawatts of operational or under-construction assets, along with a development pipeline of about 1 gigawatt, including a sizable safe-harbor portfolio, said the people, asking not to be identified discussing confidential information.

A representative for Lisbon-based EDP SA, which controls EDP Renovaveis, declined to comment. Mergermarket reported the potential deal earlier.
