JBS, Almarai Said Among Bidders for Biggest Mideast Poultry Firm

Brazilian meat giant JBS SA and Saudi company Almarai Co.are among companies vying to buy out Alwatania, the Middle East’s largest poultry producer, according to people familiar with the matter.

The two firms have submitted separate non-binding offers for an outright purchase of Alwatania, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing private information. Saudi company Tanmiah Food Co. and a consortium led by Ukrainian agri-tech firm MHP have also made separate bids, according to the people.
