Citadel raised the possibility of abandoning a massive effort to expand in New York City, after Mayor Zohran Mamdaniused billionaire founder Ken Griffin’s record-setting purchase of an apartment to tout a new tax proposal.
“It is shameful that he used Ken’s name as the example of those who supposedly aren’t carrying their fair share of the burdens associated with New York City’s often costly and wasteful spending,” Citadel Chief Operating Officer Gerald Beeson said in a statement sent to the finance company’s staff.
