Aid-In-Dying Bill Set to Pass With Tweaks
New York is set to become the 13th state to legalize physician-assisted suicide after Gov. Kathy Hochul said she would sign a bill approving the practice, capping an intense lobbying effort on both sides of the controversial issue.
Hochul sought to stake out a middle ground, saying she wouldn’t sign the measure until January after the legislature amends it to make it more restrictive than an earlier iteration.
