New Jersey Transit will reduce its controversial $150 World Cup ticket price to $105 after widespread pushback.
Kris Kolluri, president and chief executive officer at NJ Transit, announced the change on Thursday, noting that Governor Mikie Sherrill has directed the agency to find private sponsorships and other sources to reduce the cost.
NJ Transit had originally raised the roundtrip price from New York’s Penn Station to MetLife stadium to cover the additional costs of carrying 40,000 fans to each game. The ride typically costs about $13.
