NYC’s LaGuardia Airport Reopens After Deadly Late-Night Crash

LaGuardia Airport has reopened after being shuttered for the better part of a day after an Air Canada Express plane collided with a fire truck shortly after landing late Sunday, killing the two pilots.

The New York City airport was closed until around 2 p.m. local time, causing roughly 600 flights to be canceled, according to FlightAware data. The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey warned travelers to expect residual delays and cancellations, advising passengers to check with their airline before departing for the airport, the agency said in a social media post on X.
