New York Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis asked the state’s top court to overturn a judge’s order redrawing her Congressional district, saying it has thrown the 2026 election into chaos.
“Time is of the essence in this matter,” an attorney for Malliotakis wrote in a letter to the court with the appeal, filed Monday.
Malliotakis said she needs clarity from the state’s appellate courts by Feb. 10 on whether they’ll let the redistricting ruling stand. If they do, or if they fail to act, she’ll seek emergency relief from the US Supreme Court, she said.
