Solomon Defeats Former Governor McGreevey in Jersey City Runoff

Jersey City Council Member James Solomon won the race for mayor, beating former Governor James McGreevey, who sought to return to public office more than 20 years after resigning following revelations of an extramarital affair with a male aide.

Solomon, who first ran in a crowded, nonpartisan race on Nov. 4, defeated McGreevey in a runoff vote Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.
