Google Must Defend Pro-Palestinian Workers’ Retaliation Claim

Former Google LLC employees can continue to allege the company unlawfully terminated them in retaliation for protesting business dealings with Israel, and for what they considered discrimination against Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim workers.

The plaintiffs’ claim that Google violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act needs more fact development, such that dismissal of that claim in the five-month suit isn’t appropriate, Judge Beth Labson Freeman of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said in a Thursday order. Freeman, however, dismissed state law claims against the company.
