Kosovo’s government approved cash handouts and higher maternity benefits 16 days before snap elections in which Prime Minister
The package includes a €100 ($116) one-time payment for pensioners, children, students and private-sector workers earning less than €1,000 a month. The salary threshold covers much of Kosovo’s labor market, where average net pay was €552 in 2024, according to the statistics agency.
