Nebraska to Index Minimum Wage Increases Starting 2027

Nebraska will annually raise its minimum wage by 1.75% starting Jan. 1, 2027, under a law Gov. Jim Pillen (R) signed Feb. 9.

LB 258 will go into effect three months after the legislature adjourns, which is currently scheduled to occur on April 17, according to the state’s current legislative calendar.

LB 258 requires the state labor department to annually calculate the new minimum wage by Oct. 15, but it is currently possible to calculate the 2027 minimum wage. Since Nebraska’s minimum wage is $15 for 2026, a 1.75% increase would result in a $15.26 or $15.27 rate, depending ...
