The Department of Justice is requiring Reddy Ice LLC to divest assets across five states to resolve antitrust concerns from its planned acquisition of an ice maker backed by private equity firm
The agency filed a complaint Friday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, seeking to enjoin Reddy Ice’s purchase of Arctic Glacier under Section 7 of the Clayton Act, which prohibits deals that lessen competition. The DOJ also filed a proposed settlement that, if approved by the court, would resolve the alleged competitive harm.
