Eurofins Employee Files Would-be Class Suit Over Smoker Penalty

A federal lawsuit accuses Eurofins NSC US Inc. of mismanaging an employee wellness program that requires tobacco-using workers to pay an additional $240 per year for healthcare coverage.

The laboratory and testing company penalizes these workers without offering them a reasonable alternative standard for avoiding the charges, a Eurofins employee said in a proposed class complaint filed May 29 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
