CFPB Drops Final Claims Against Lease-to-Own Company Snap (1)

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau dropped its remaining claims in a lawsuit alleging lease-to-own company Snap Finance LLC used misleading tactics to lure customers into financing agreements.

Snap was able to get most of the CFPB’s lawsuit dismissed last August, including against two holding companies. The remaining claims alleged Snap Finance violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Rather than refiling the lawsuit or finding another way to revive the dismissed claims, the CFPB on Tuesday filed a voluntary motion to dismiss the entire action with prejudice in the US District Court for the District of Utah.
