The EPA rejected Colorado’s revised plan to limit haze, alleging it doesn’t comply with the Clean Air Act given it calls for shutting down coal-fueled power plants in the state without the plants’ permission, the agency said Friday.
The Environmental Protection Agency’s disapproval of the plan adds to the growing list of ways the Trump administration has been trying to support the dwindling US coal industry. It’s also one another example of the administration running into states’ efforts to tackle climate change.
