Lee Enterprises agreed to pay $600,000 to settle cybersecurity litigation filed after an attack on the media company in February 2025, according to a motion for preliminary approval submitted in Iowa federal court.
Nearly 40,000 class members would be eligible for some type of reimbursement—either a cash payment, an award for ordinary losses, or one for extraordinary injury—along with credit monitoring services. Lee Enterprises agreed to adopt enhanced cybersecurity measures, according to the motion in the US District Court for the Southern District of Iowa.
