Lee Memorial Health System is immune from a proposed class action over its use of Meta Platforms’ business tools, like the tracking pixel and the Conversions Application Programming Interface, a court ruled.
The hospital system, as a subdivision of Florida, was covered by the state’s sovereign immunity. Florida law waives sovereign immunity in tort cases seeking to recover for injury, property loss, or death, but plaintiff Laurie Mack failed to establish her claim fell into those categories, Judge John L.
