Planned Parenthood Sued Over Sharing Patient Data With Google

Planned Parenthood Federation of America Inc. and several regional affiliates were accused of sharing patients’ private health information with Google LLC, Meta Platforms Inc., and other companies without consent via website tracking tools.

The proposed class action, filed June 19 in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, alleges that when patients use Planned Parenthood’s website to book appointments, the organization automatically transmits sensitive details to third parties, including the type of service sought, ZIP codes, ages, and for abortion patients, the date of their last menstrual period.
