X. Corp, formerly known as Twitter, has petitioned the Federal Trade Commission to set aside or modify a 2022 settlement with the agency that required the company to implement new privacy practices.
The petition, which argues the settlement is stymieing X’s ability to innovate and “is critical to advancing American leadership in artificial intelligence,” nods to an executive order from President Donald Trump last year on AI. The order tasked the FTC with reviewing agency decisions under President Joe Biden that could impact innovation in artificial intelligence.
