Consumer credit reporting companies and debt collectors will have an extra three months to comply with a Biden-era Consumer Financial Protection Bureau rule barring medical debt reporting, if it survives a Trump administration review and an industry lawsuit.
The rule, originally set to take effect on March 17, will now come into force on June 15 if it isn’t overturned, Judge Sean D. Jordan in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas said in a Thursday ruling.
