Edison Releases Final Settlement Offer for Eaton Fire Survivors

Edison International‘s Southern California Utility unveiled a final Eaton Fire compensation plan Wednesday that sweeps in more residents but leaves unchanged its repair offer for smoke-damaged standing homes.

Settlement applications are now open to nearly twice as many residents with standing homes contaminated by smoke, soot, and ash after Edison extended its eligibility zone beyond the perimeter of the Los Angeles County fire. It continues to offer a flat rate of $10,000 to remediate smoke damage that residents say isn’t enough to cover testing and cleanup.
