Merkley Chides EPA for Undue Industry Influence on Chemicals (1)

The former industry officials leading the EPA’s chemical and pesticide offices are undermining the agency’s decisions in ways that will harm public health, Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) said in a letter sent Thursday to EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin.

These decisions reveal a “great hypocrisy” between what the Trump administration claims to care about in its Make America Healthy Again report and what Zeldin’s leadership is doing, said Merkley, the top Democrat on a Senate Environment and Public Works subcommittee that oversees chemical safety.
