A Decades-Old List Is Limiting US Access to EU Bond Futures

Deutsche Börse AGis pushing the US to make changes to a four-decade old list to open up the European Union’s new bond futures to American hedge funds.

Executives at the firm want the Securities and Exchange Commission to add the EU to a list of foreign governments for which futures trading restrictions are waived. The lobbying has been stalled by the ongoing US government shutdown, said Matthias Graulich, global head of products at Eurex, theDeutsche Börse division which lists EU futures.
