Barclays Hires Ex-US Treasury Official Adeyemo for Strategy Role

Barclays Plc has hired former US Treasury official Wally Adeyemo to be the bank’s head of strategy and transformation.

Adeyemo is taking up the newly-created role on Wednesday, according to a memo seen by Bloomberg News. He will be based in London and join Barclays’s group executive committee, working with Chief Executive Officer C.S. Venkatakrishnan to set the strategic direction of the bank, the memo said.
