NextEra Energy Inc. agreed to pay $150 million to end proposed class claims that the major utility company misrepresented to investors its involvement in a Florida election interference scandal.

It’s the “largest settlement of a securities class action” in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida since a law on this type of litigation was enacted in 1995, investors leading the case said Monday while seeking preliminary approval.
