Voice of America’s director and three of its journalists on Wednesday challenged the Trump administration’s decision to dismantle the US-funded news outlet.
The administration’s termination of contracts and decision to place VOA employees on administrative leave “contravenes baseline constitutional principles and the express will of Congress,” the plaintiffs told the US District Court for the District of Columbia in their complaint.
Only Congress has the power to create and abolish federal agencies, the plaintiffs say. But VOA has “gone dark,” they say.
