A federal judge expects to put a hold on the Trump administration’s revocation of permission to stay in the country for about 12,000 family members of citizens or green-card holders seeking permanent status.
Judge Indira Talwani of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said during a hearing Friday she would likely issue a two-week order blocking the government from terminating the Family Reunification Parole program on Jan. 14.
The hold gives lawyers for the parolees and the government more time to argue over a preliminary injunction.
