Jones Day Sues New York PE Firm for $9.6 Million in Unpaid Bills

Jones Day has sued private equity firm Centre Lane Partners and some of its affiliates, claiming the former client owes more than $9.6 million in unpaid invoices for work, including with its portfolio companies.

In its complaint filed Tuesday in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Jones Day notes that it served Centre Lane as its outside counsel on matters spanning multiple years, including distressed asset acquisitions, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and antitrust litigation.

Centre Lane stopped paying in the past year but continued to engage Jones Day in work, claiming payments would arrive, the firm said. ...
