California Cigar Makers Lose Bid to Block Tobacco Product List

A district court denied a request by premium cigar manufacturers to block a California law requiring tobacco products to be listed on an approved roster before they can be sold.

The US District Court for the Central District of California denied the manufacturer’s motion for a preliminary injunction Tuesday, rejecting their arguments that the state’s Unflavored Tobacco List is preempted by federal law or violates the First Amendment.
